Every day more than 5,000 new web sites are added to the Web universe. The Seattle Times reported 19 to 26 million Americans have access to the Internet at work on average, each spends approximately six hours a week on-line. Of 110 companies surveyed, 62 percent had employees access sexually explicit web sites. It is was estimated that 24 percent of all corporate Internet traffic is recreational.
Our Presentations will help parents and leaders become Internet savvy and well versed. Topics include the benefits of the Superhighway, protecting your children and family from online predators and Internet pornography. We will also cover the dangers of Sexting and Cyberbullying, and how to keep your Loved ones accountable on social networks.
LICCV is pleased to report that in the past seven (20) years we have been able to reach over 30,000 students per year (ages 12-19) with a message of “hope”. This generation known as “Generation X” has been marked for destruction. It is our vision to reach as many students as possible with the message of “sexual wholeness”.
The sexual behavior of Long Island’s youth puts them at risk of increased unplanned pregnancy; sexually transmitted diseases; and emotional and physical risks of abortion! Therefore sexual violence is our target. In our communities “Safe Sex” is being taught in most schools with little or no discussion of the alternatives. Our initiative is to present a different perspective.
Our "More than Conquerors at Home" is for men and women who are experiencing the effects of sexual exploitation and victimization due to pornography and the sexualized culture.
The purpose of this "at home" program is to provide faith-based materials and support which will focus on their relationship with God and bring healing and restoration into their lives. We make available information on sexual wholeness and what is normal to expect in their own responses. We give support and information that will help alleviate the isolation and shame around the issue, and encouragement to take initial steps to facilitate their own health and safety.
We have developed an extensive library of resources which are used as curriculum to meet the various needs. The individuals are required to read or listen to materials at home and hand in reports. In most cases we can meet or talk on the phone, and distribute the materials by hand or mail. This enables us to work with several individuals at one time. The results have been excellent.. Individuals begin to reach enough restoration in 6 months, at which point we encourage them to develop accountability with a mentor or group in their home church.
Each individual is responsible for the cost of materials and a mentoring fee.
